you are designing a house with 3 feet wide windows on the back of the house. there are 4 feet between each end window and an edge of the house. the width of the house is 33 feet. how far apart should the windows be?( 3 windows)

or verbally, back of house (from L to R above) 4' from edge of house to window, window, x feet to next window, window, x feet to next window, window, 4 feet to edge of house. Note: windows are 3'





so mathematically, you have 4+3+x+3+x+3+4 = 33


or 2x + 17 = 33 or 2x = 16 or x = 16


so windows should be 16' apart
